There were even a few of our skaters participating across multiple events & divisions. The weekend would also prove to be one of CCFSC’s biggest successes at Triple Challenge yet. Hot on Josh’s heels was Ashbyi Taylor who would skate in the Intermediate 2 division. She too would skate a fantastic routine & would also earn first place - her first first- place victory in her figure skating career thus far. “I can’t believe I actually came second!” says Hannah Short, who participated in the first Freeskate division, Freeskate 1 (1. Triple Challenge would be Hannah’s second comp she has participated in (after her debut at Aussie Skate Erina back in May) & would be her most successful one so far after winning a well deserved second place berth. Triple Challenge 2. Sophie Williamson (third in Freeskate 2 (1. Isabelle Kompass (third in Freeskate 4 (1. Riley Wilson (first in Freeskate 4 (1. Triple Challenge 2. RILEY REIGNS TRIUMPHANT WITH TRIPLE CHALLENGE TRIFECTA”) While they didn’t reach the podium, there were also very strong performances from Jorja Wakeling, Sophia Williams. Sofia Perl, Sophie Planicka, Matilda Ralph & Casey Boaler throughout the course of the stunning Aussie Skate event. STARS & SKATES ARTISTIC. Jorja would win second place with her routine in the Freeskate 1 division based on a Wonder Woman- theme. The Central Coast Ice Diamonds (Riley, Jorja, Sophie Williamson, Mikayla Mitchell, Matilda Ralph & Sophia Williams) were a runaway success in the Novelty Groups division across various artistic comps early in 2. They entered Triple Challenge to keep this successful momentum going with a brand new routine using the music of The Village People. Complete with Village People costumes & personas, they proved why they are on top by doing a sensational routine to hit songs “YMCA” & “In the Navy.” The routine earned the Diamonds their third first place win of 2. Sofia Perl, Sophie Planicka & Amy Makin also had the opportunity to perform solo routines throughout Stars & Skates while Riley & Mikayla would team up for a Novelty Pairs routine to the theme song from “Laverne & Shirley.” While they didn’t reach the podium, they were all a well- performing & persevering group of skaters as CCFSC continued to pile on triumph after triumph. IJS TECHNICAL. Her efforts earned her a well deserved second- place win - a fantastic supplement to her first place win in Artistic. The next group of CCFSC skaters to perform would be the Basic Novice A Ladies group consisting of twin sisters Amanda & Bianca Le & Taiya Baker - all trained by coach Nicci Nyman. Despite battling illness, Bianca skated an almost perfect routine which earned her a third place spot on the podium. Her twin sister Amanda was very close behind her sister with an equally strong performance which earned her fourth place. Taiya too would perform a beautiful routine showing no signs of wavering to finish in tenth. While she didn’t make the podium, her performance earned her a new personal best. CCFSC’s final triumph at Triple Challenge 2. Each skate video has a great soundtrack and is set in New York's Central Park, one of the best places in the world for inline skating.
